Oxcar..... easier, greener, cheaper
Car Clubs offer communities cars without the costs of ownership.
They reduce the cars in our streets and the miles we drive,
Improving our streetscapes and our quality of life.
Oxcar and Commonwheels brought car club cars to East Oxford in November 2008. In this unique collaboration Commonwheels (a national, not-for-profit car club) provides the technical and administrative services and Oxcar gives the club local roots.
From a fledgling fleet of two in 2008 the club has increased to 14 cars by the end of 2010, with more to be added soon. They are kept in bays across East Oxford, Cowley, Headington and Iffley.
These pages are intended to supplement the Commonwheels’ site by guiding you through the basics, adding local detail (including introductions to each of the Oxford cars) and keeping you up to date with Oxcar’s activities.
